As with birthdays, a rainy Saturday morning is one of the few exceptions where cake for breakfast is just about acceptable and after having our plans to snap some outfit photos in one of my favourite places in the South, Winchester, scuppered by the miserable weather we hopped into the cosy cafe Ginger Two for a much needed warm up.

The bar by the window is the best place to sit and watch the world go by as you sip on your coffee - and they really do make a mean cappuccino. The food is simple but tasty and the cakes.. oh my the cakes. I went for a slice of red velvet and it was probably the best I've ever had. Darren had chocolate, of course, and managed to scoff it down before I'd even pulled out the camera - we'll take that as a sign it was delicious too!

The rest of the day was spent darting in and out of shops in attempt to avoid the wet weather until we eventually decided to give up and head home to spend an afternoon wrapped up on the sofa. Autumn is definitely here and I couldn't be happier!
