For a long time there have only been two main contenders in my life for the title of Best Concealer - my beloved Origins Plantscription for brightening around the eyes and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for it's incredible covering abilities. The only down side to these two is their rather hefty price tags and as concealer is something I tend to get through all too quickly I've been on the hunt for some cheaper alternatives and have found three that might just be up to the job.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: When I asked on Twitter for your personal concealer favourites this one surprised me by coming out on top with some even going as far to dub it as a lower end NARS dupe. I got excited. The shade choices are slightly confusing and I ended up going for the second in the range (which for some reason actually comes out lighter than the first?) and the colour is still a touch too dark for me depending on which base I'm wearing, but I'm wiling to overlook that as this really is the perfect all round concealer. It covers redness and blemishes well without emphasising any dry patches and balances out dark circles with a super pigmented formula that leaves a hydrated finish. It may not have quite as much coverage as the NARS concealer - who knows what they pack into that little tube to make it so wonderful at everything, but it sure does come close.

Bourjois CC Eye Cream Concealer*: This one immediately gets extra points for the plastic tipped applicator - much more hygienic than it's sponge counterparts and the way all concealers should be packaged in my eyes. A little bit really goes a long way and although the formula feels on the thinner side (so weightless in fact you barely know you're wearing it, a trait it shares with the CC Cream from the same range) the coverage is so impressive I don't even need to think about reaching for my Bobbi Brown Corrector to layer on before hand.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: This one really packs a punch in the illuminating stakes as it's injected with tiny particles of shimmer. These become invisible when transferred to the skin but impart a brightening boost which, although I find best for disguising dark circles, also works well when drawn on in a 'V' shape to add some dimension à la the Kardashians - a girl can dream right? The formula has so far been crease free - one of my pet peeves with under eye concealers and a quick slick of this stuff after a late night really is enough to have you bright and beaming!
