Lunch with my lovely friend Nicola usually means two things: 1) there will be cake involved and 2) we're guaranteed to sit and talk about beauty products for a good three or four hours. Perfect recipe for an afternoon if you ask me. After making a date to visit our local Vintage Tea Room only to turn up and find it closed we headed for the fail safe Tenth Hole in Southsea which I've come to regard as an actual cake Heaven - they have everything.
I haven't been keeping up with LFW as throughly as I would have liked, although my Instagram feed is just about full to the brim with it I think I've pretty much got the highlights down. As much as I love the beauty and elegance of the clothes, it's the make up that I find myself most drawn to - ethereal dewy skin and bold lip looks always being a favourite, of course, but there was one look this year hailing from the Marc Jacobs SS15 show during New York Fashion Week that I found the most intriguing.
On a day to day basis I've been embracing a much more laid back approach to make up and generally keeping things quite simple, but when it comes to an evening look it's a completely different story and I'm happy to use a multitude of products to contour, bronze, highlight, brighten.. you name it!
What's In My Bag videos are without doubt my favourites to watch (call me nosey!) so when a new addition to my collection comes along I think it's only right that you should get to have a peak inside too! I've been eyeing up a leather look backpack after many a loving gaze through Pinterest at some serious effortlessly cool ladies sporting one, but considering I'm neither effortless nor cool I put it off for a long time until it came to planning for our recent trip to Belgium when I knew having both hands free would probably be a good idea.
I often find myself trawling through the over-packed beauty aisles of my local TK Maxx trying to sniff out a bargain or two, but never have I grabbed something and rushed to the checkout as fast as when I spied this little brown can of Oscar Blandi Volumising Dry Shampoo sitting so innocently on the bottom shelf.
